12 myths every photographer should know

12 myths every photographer should know.Found this through a friend. Figured I had no idea about it and will share with others=)
Two weeks ago, I found myself grabbing my DSLR, putting on a lens with no filter since that destroys image quality, putting it on a tripod and using a cable release to take the landscape photo, putting the camera in mirror lock-up mode for a night photo, turning on long-exposure noise reduction, and covering the optical viewfinder to prevent light leaks. I was doing it right. It was technical photography perfection.
And then, I snapped. I suddenly realized that I do all of those "technically perfect" things simply because I've been told they improve
Great article; I went through this same thing being told there were various things I "could not do" because I shoot with a P/S-Superzoom instead of a DSLR.
I "can't" get a decent DOF effect, forget about a decent bokeh, may as well forget about filters or different lenses or low-light shooting or taking any really "decent quality" shots.
Most of these myths came from "professionals" or "wannabe professionals" and they proved to be either "passed on from generation to generation" or just assumptions made due to them not knowing how to use their P/S camera.
I have been shooting for a couple years with a camera that shoots only in JPEG and cost less than $500, have got a set of macro lenses, filters, tripods, it even has a wireless remote; and save for some "action during low-light" woes, have had many people completely happy with the quality.
People need to do their own tests, with their own equipment, and allow themselves to become "artists"...IMHO
